A New Classic!

A climber's dream ride from Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort to Silverton. You will travel over two 10,000 ft mountain passes on your way to the historical mining town of Silverton. There are two aid stations with food and water along the route. There is no technical support on course. The 27 miles of the route to Silverton is a closed road.

Where:

Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort is located in the southwestern corner of Colorado in the beautiful San Juan Mountains, 25 scenic miles north of the town of Durango on Highway 550.
Registration Fee: $80  Field limit 200 riders


Return Transportation Riders who need return transportation from Silverton can purchase a bus or train return trip. Bikes are also transported. Bike pickup is 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Buckley Park. Charge is $40, and space is limited. Riders are not allowed to ride back from Silverton.

The IHBC contributes a portion of all entry fees to supporting the Mercy Health Foundation and many other community based programs in our region. 

Important Information

All riders must be past Coal Bank Pass Summit by 11:30 a.m.  and Molas Pass by 12:30 p.m. Riders not past those points will be transported by bus to Silverton, and their bikes will be trucked. Roads open to vehicles at 1:00 p.m. and all riders must be off by then!

If the event is cancelled due to weather there will be no reimbursement nor event postponement
